Instructions and Procedures

STEP ONE: Obtaining the Application Form

Download our online Application Form for New Students found to the left or request it by phone by calling (310) 836-3464 Ext. 315. We will mail you the Application packet which includes further instructions on how to apply.

STEP TWO: Submitting the Application

Complete, sign and date the Application Form; include your child’s last two years’ transcripts; and a check for the $75.00 non-refundable application fee. Mail by First Class Mail (not registered mail) to:

STEP THREE: Completing the Process

Once you have received notice of your child’s acceptance, which is conditional upon certain entrance exams requirements, you will be asked to provide additional materials:

  • A recent photo of your child.
  • A copy of his/her birth certificate.
  • A copy of his/her updated immunization record.
  • Three letters of recommendation (two from teachers and one from an administrator on school letterhead. (Recommendation letters are confidential and must be transmitted to our school sealed.) This applies from 2nd through 12thgrade.
  • An entrance exam. Parents will be notified of the required Entrance Exam in the child’s Acceptance Letter.
  1. No entrance exam is necessary for incoming preschool and K1 students.
  2. For incoming K2 and 1st grade students, since these younger grades are not given transcripts, a general evaluation from the preceding school is required as well as the forms found on the left (K1 K2 Form for K1 and Preschool Readiness Form for Preschool).
  3. For those entering K2 through 4th grade, applicants will be asked to take the Lycée Entrance Exam and/or interview.
  4. For those students entering the International School Program (5th grade through 12th grades) from a U.S. school, applicants will be asked to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) through the ERBLearn.org website. Parents register their child directly at http://www.iseetest.org. Fee: $95. In order for the Lycée to receive the results of this test you must include our ERB Membership # 054339 on the ISEE application.

Note: Final registration procedure cannot be completed without these documents.

STEP FOUR: Concluding Registration

Once steps 1 through 3 are completed, you will receive a Statement of Account.Tuition must be paid in full. The school cannot guarantee a space for your child until after full tuition has been received.

AFTER REGISTRATION

Communication: You will periodically receive, via email and US postal service, all necessary information concerning orientation, books, materials, calendars and schedules.

Uniforms: Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles uniforms are provided and sold by Dennis Uniform, 2640 North San Fernando Road, Los Angeles, CA 90065 – Tel (800) 473-8130 or (818) 843-8306. Uniforms are available for purchase throughout the year. Dennis Uniform holds two school sales on our premises during the month of August. Look for our reminder in the mail. Sports uniforms are also available for purchase at Dennis.

Textbooks: Go to the Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles online bookstore at www.efollett.com. Textbooks for the 2012-2013 school year for 2nd through 12th graders will be posted by mid-July of 2012.
