Middle School Main Campus on "Overland Hill"
Offering 6th Grade through 8th Grade classes
I truly believe that Middle School students are an amazing age group to work with and be surrounded by. As its name indicates. Middle school is the transitionary period between Elementary School and High School. No longer small children, but not quite yet teenagers, Middle Schoolers are right where they should be, that is to say, they are in "transition”: on the way to becoming responsible, thoughtful and educated citizens of the world.
Since Middle School is an important time full of growth and change, it is therefore our mission to accompany our students through this transitionary period. Our goal is to create a safe and stimulating environment which challenges them to explore their knowledge, to develop empathy and interest in others, and to become autonomous and responsible. We thus make sure to create an intellectual, physical, social, and emotional environment that is always positive and inclusive.
Indeed, from 6th grade to 8th grade, the interdisciplinary projects engage them in their learning experiences by encouraging their sense of curiosity and exploration as well as emphasizing the practical application of their knowledge and their ability for cooperative and collaborative learning. That is why “hands on” learning is at the heart of their education, giving them the opportunity to not only apply their knowledge but to also grow and mature as they practice decision-making.
Middle School is the place and time where you learn how to learn and where you delve deeper in your learning experiences. When our students begin to realize how far their knowledge can take them, their love of learning blooms. We work with the intention of making curious, empathetic, and knowledgeable lifelong learners out of all of our young students.
