Le Lycée Leadership Team Description and Function
The concept of the Leadership Team was the idea of Mr. Raymond Kabbaz Founder, and then President, more than 20 years ago. In the early days of the school, the school Founder, Mr. Raymond Kabbaz, met with the Heads of Campus as well as the General Supervisor once a week to discuss all daily school related matters. As the number of campuses expanded, Mr. Kabbaz believed that the Heads of campuses should be aware of events associated with all campuses. He instituted our current Leadership Team structure whereby Heads of campuses meet once a week to discuss all relevant school business. The Leadership Team is comprised of the Heads of each of the school’s five campuses. The composition of the school Leadership Team includes the school President, Mrs. Kabbaz Esq.; Head of High School (9th–12th grades), Mr. Petauton; School Director and Head of Elementary School at Overland (2nd–5th grades), Mrs. Cole; Head of Middle School (6th–8th grades), Dr. Angelini; Head of Century City Campus (K2 and 1st grade), Mr. Zala; Head of Palisades Campus (PS–2nd grade), Mrs. Leloup; Head of Campus 55 (PS and K1), Miss Haustete; Counselor/Dean of Faculty, Dr. Hands; and Head of General Supervision/School Security, Mr. Garnier, and this year a visiting member, Mr. Kenneth Morelock, Head of the Physical Education Department.
The school President and the other members of the Leadership Team are responsible for overseeing and administrating the day-to-day functioning of the school. The school leadership convenes every Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. and meetings continue as long as necessary, averaging 2-3 hours in duration. As the principal governing body, the Leadership Team delegates and administrates most aspects of the school program and curriculum. School Heads are responsible for the operations at their respective campuses. They facilitate the enactment of school policies and are responsible for managing teaching faculty, students, supervisors, administrative and custodial staff associated with their school. Additionally, they work closely with teachers, supervisors, parents as well as other members of the school community to ensure the smooth execution of the school mission.
Weekly Leadership Team meetings enable our school to rapidly respond to local and national trends and considerations and serves as an incubator for important planning sessions where Leadership Team members share ideas and develop strategies for future school development. These meetings are utilized as a means to continually assess our school’s relevance to our mission and stakeholders’ expectations.
