February 2012

Posted March 1, 2012

It is hard to believe that the month has gone by so quickly. This month will kick off with a dance on Friday, February 3rd, from 7:00 to 10:15 PM. The Middle School Band will open the evening with a couple of songs. Shawn Kennedy, Lycée alumni and the Middle School’s favorite DJ, agreed to come from San Diego to spin for the dance. Students will be able to purchase pizza, drinks and ice cream sundaes at the Student Council booth during the dance. Students asked that we remind all the parents that the dance is, “for students only,” and that since the DJ stops the music at 10:00 PM, they would like to be able to hear the last song before leaving. Students will be sent to the Elementary School pick-up area when the music stops, and must be picked up by 10:15 PM.

On February 9th, our lucky 8th graders will go on a field trip with their science teachers. On February 14th, the Middle School will enjoy a red and pink-themed free dress to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

On a different note, all parents should have received their children’s semester grade. Please be aware that you will have one more opportunity to come and meet with all the teachers during the Parent-Teachers Conferences (PTC). Parents that would like to attend the PTC must register in advance. Registration begins Monday, February 6th, 2012, and lasts through Friday, February 10th, 2012 from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM in the Reading Room. Students are not allowed to sign up for their parents.

Study hall will remain open for enrolled students only. Parent-teacher conferences are for parents only – no students. Please see click here to see the corresponding chart.
