C'est la vie! The New Choir CD!
Posted June 4, 2010
On May 18th, a different sort of field trip took place as our choir spent from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the professional studios of Capitol Records recording their new CD "C'est la vie". The Capitol Records building has stood out in Hollywood near Hollywood and Vine since 1954. This first ever round office buildings has been the topic of many arguments about whether its resemblance to a stack of records and a record player stylus was intentional. This historic building has been the home of many legendary artists including: The Beatles, The Beastie Boys, Pink Floyd, Frank Sinatra, Duran Duran, Bob Seeger, and Tina Turner, just to name a very few of the many.
Among all of this history is also where Le Lycée Choir has recorded its most recent CD.
On this special CD, the Choir performs such songs as "We Are the World", "Beds are Burning", "Gaby, Oh Gaby", and "Je n'aurai pas le temps". Also included on this album is a tribute to the two most represented countries at the very international Le Lycée in the form of their anthems: the French "La Marseillaise" and the American "The Star Spangled Banner".
This CD can be purchased at the school's receptionist office on the second floor of the Main Building at Overland Campus for $15.00.
As always, the Choir was directed by the very talented Pierre Leloup who was assisted at this recording by Aurélien Dourron. Instrumental was recorded by Pierre Leloup. The CD was engineered by Ted Blaisdell.
A very special thanks to Martin Kierszenbaum.
