In a bilingual preschool program children learn and develop in both French and English languages, with activities and interaction conducted in both languages. Bilingualism enhances cognitive development, improves problem-solving skills, as well as promotes language acquisition and cultural awareness from an early age. The program promotes early socialization, development of autonomy, and encourages sensory, motor, and artistic awakening.

Teachers use a balanced approach, alternating between French and English throughout the day, incorporating language learning into play, activities, songs, and conversation. Teachers are native speakers.

No prior knowledge of either French or English is required. The program is designed for children of all language backgrounds.

Our preschool program maintains a low 1:6 child-to-teacher ratio to ensure personalized attention and support for all with 2 teachers in the classroom.

A typical day includes a mix of activities such as circle time, arts and crafts, hands-on early learning activities, games, fine and gross motor skill activities, outdoor play, story time, snack time, and music, with both French and English featured.

While we focus on proficiency and language exposure, each child develops their language skills at their own pace. Children absorb both languages through daily interaction and organized activities that help children feel comfortable in both languages.

When children are sick, they stay home until they are well in order to prevent the spread of illness. We follow strict health and hygiene protocols to keep all children safe. Children need to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without the administration of medicine.

Parents provide diapers or pull-ups, wipes, rash ointment cream. Please label with you child’s name and complete a Consent Form (request from Head of Campus)

We are open Monday through Friday, 8am- 2:30pm (extended care is offered until 4:45pm with additional fee). The program follows the regular Lycée Français de Los Angeles school calendar.

Choose from 3 days (M/W/F only) or 5 days a week.

Yes, we provide healthy snacks and meals that cater to dietary restrictions and preferences. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or special dietary needs.

We organize special events, such as cultural celebrations, parent-teacher events, to enrich the bilingual experience and build community.

No uniform is required. Students will be provided with 1(one) traditional French tablier/smock which they wear over their clothing. Additional tablier/smocks can be purchased on campus.
