Elementary School Main Campus
Offering 2nd Grade through 5th Grade classes
The Elementary school is located on the main campus, aka the Overland Campus. Our “Paradise on the Hill” features a parklike setting with a centenarian Moreton Bay fig tree, a Zen amphitheater, and a learning Garden. The campus also plays host of many friendly squirrels and colorful butterflies, and it has been my second home for nearly 40 years.
Our campus and its magical décor is home to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders – bright and disciplined children from all walks of life, nationalities and cultures. Here we honor and uphold treasured traditions and strong positive values, while ensuring that all requirements of the French and American curricula are met and exceeded.
Le Lycée Francais de Los Angeles has a strong child-centered philosophy. Young children come to us with refreshing, boundless curiosity and inquisitive minds. Here, personal initiative, creativity and intellectual curiosity are highly encouraged. Students are eased into developing their intellect, honing their critical thinking skills and character, in a bilingual, bicultural environment, and learning respect and appreciation for cultural differences.
Whether learning studiously in their engaging classrooms, doing research in the library or experimenting in the Science lab, putting up plays in the Zen amphitheater, painting in the art studio or singing in the music room, gardening in the Learning Garden or dancing in the dance studio, playing sports on the basketball, volleyball and tennis courts or swimming in our lovely pool, participating in a variety of extra-curricular activists such as fencing, karate, ballet, soccer and drama, or eating nutritious lunches prepared by our French chef, our Elementary school students are allowed to develop their own identities in a nurturing setting. Here they can become confident with their abilities and talents, and grow into responsible and active citizens of the world.
