Middle School Read-A-Thon

Dear Middle School Parents,

The Read-A-Thon Fundraiser has become a tradition at the Middle School. Each year, the Middle School sets aside one week during the year dedicated to reading for pleasure and meeting contemporary authors! The Read-A-Thon is around the corner and will take place from Monday, February 12 through Friday, February 16.

The Read-A-Thon is a special week for our students, but it is also our main fundraiser. It is a great way to help foster our students’ love of reading, academic excellence, and community spirit by joining in a common goal.

THE FUNDS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE NEW 78 SEATER BUS WHICH WILL BE USED DAILY FOR P.E., TEAM SPORTS, AND FIELD TRIPS.

BUS COST: $255,500.00
All donations are tax-deductible and no donations are too small!

Last year's funds contributed to the student-led Middle School Pottery Project. We purchased a professional grade pottery oven (kiln) and equipped the art room with sets of pottery wheels. We just inaugurated the kiln, have scheduled a ceramic workshop and added a ceramic project within our mandatory art curriculum.

In the past, the funds collected by the Read-A-Thon have contributed to the remodelling and expansion of the MS library,  a major project, and also to increasing the number of iPads available and diversifying the digital library.

While the greatest reward of the Read-A-Thon may in fact be the enjoyment of a good book, it is our hope that it will help continue to nurture our students’ love for reading by raising funds which can be used for their marvelous school!
