Middle School Read-A-Thon
The Read-A-Thon Fundraiser has become a tradition at the Middle School. Each year, the middle school sets aside one week during the year dedicated to reading for pleasure and meeting contemporary authors! The Read-A-Thon is around the corner and will take place from Monday, February 13 through Friday, February 17.
The Read-A-Thon is a special week for our students, but it is also the main fundraiser that raises funds exclusively for the Middle School campus. It is a great way to help foster our students’ love of reading and academic excellence, while supporting our middle school campus at the same time.
THIS YEAR'S GOAL IS TO RAISE $20,000 OR MORE DEPENDING ON YOUR GENEROSITY.
Funds will support our Pottery Project!
All donations are tax-deductible!
In the past, the funds collected by the Read-A-Thon have contributed to remodel and expand the MS library, which was a major project, but also to increase the amount of iPads in the Library and diversify the digital library.
The “Pottery Project” comes from the children directly. Help us make it happen! It consists of replacing our old kiln (professional grade pottery oven) which is not operational anymore and equip the art room with sets of pottery wheels. At the Lycée, art is a mandatory part of the curriculum, but our students are also given the opportunity to take part in clubs at lunchtime and after school. Of course, any remaining funds will benefit the library and the MS directly.
While the greatest reward of the Read-A-Thon may in fact be the enjoyment of a good book, it is our hope that it will help continue to nurture our students’ love for reading by raising funds which can be used for their Middle School campus.
